Fred Armisen, longtime DEVOtee and friend of the band, was called in for duty on drums for DEVO at the 2018 Burger Boogaloo Festival in Oakland, CA. The first DEVO rehearsal I attended on this trip was the first SIR Studios full stage rehearsal (after the band rehearsed at Mutato for a few days). As I walked there from my hotel, I saw this very Total DEVO-esque grafitti on the streets of Los Angeles…A “Be Happy” only version of DEVO’s “Be Happy Or Not” logo circa 1988.
